Dog Guides Ambulance Crew Through Backstreets To His Stricken Owner

Here’s yet another story on why dogs are the most perfect angelic creatures imaginable and we basically don’t deserve them. A golden retriever was caught on camera guiding an ambulance crew down a labyrinth of backstreets, in order for them to help his poorly owner.

China has a bad reputation when it comes to the welfare of dogs and other small animals, but one particular pup has touched the hearts of millions over there, and around the world since the clip went viral.

This golden retriever lived up to its name, after guiding an ambulance to its unconscious owner. Incredibly, the dog saw the ambulance, knew exactly what it was and why it was there, and led them to his stricken owner through a series of backstreets that they would have had no chance of navigating by themselves.

One of the rescuers, Jiang Xu, told local news site Pear that a drunk man had passed out in Yuncheng, China. When locals alerted authorities, this very good boy came to the rescue.

Ambulance footage shows the golden retriever regularly stopping in the middle of the street to wait for the vehicle, just to make sure that they were following him.

“After making sure we were following it, the dog then picked up speed and started running,” Jiang said. The dog then led the ambulance to its owner, who was still sprawled out in front of his house.

Jiang said the man was collecting bottles in his neighborhood then collapsed in an alleyway. He is now being taken care of by his son.

Although it’s sad that the dog and his owner had to go through such distress, it just goes to show how incredibly loyal and compassionate dogs can be. I hope owner makes a full recovery soon, and can spend plenty of quality time with this brave pup.
