Source Reports Tom Cruise Chooses Not See 12-Year-Old Daughter Because She Is Not A Scientologist

There’s no easy way around custody battles. Often, both parents want to be able to see their kids as much as possible. However, Tom Cruise appears to be the exception to that rule.

Us Weekly spoke with a source who confirmed that Tom Cruise has visitation rights for his twelve-year-old daughter, Suri but he chooses not to see her. Cruise is permitted to see his daughter ten days each month, which is a decent percentage right?! Much more than a lot of very deserving, and very lovely Dads are afforded!

Father and daughter haven’t been photographed together since 2013. Clearly, for nearly six years, Cruise’s relationship with his daughter has been rocky.

Cruise shares daughter Suri with ex-wife Katie Holmes. Sadly the relationship broke down just a few years in, despite the couple’s seeming besotted-ness prior to their marriage. Though neither Holmes nor Cruise spoke publicly about their separation it was rumored that the most likely cause of their marital woes was Cruise’s ardent following of Scientology. The religion disbands members from associating with other non-members.

Maybe it’s just me but any religion or following that disbands you from speaking to your own friends and family is freakin’ scary! Tom needs to step up to the plate…

However, the source confirmed that Scientology was indeed the reason Cruise will not associate with Suri. They stated;

“He chooses not to [see her] because she is not a Scientologist.”

I’ve heard some pretty weak excuses in my time, but this one really takes the biscuit! In the absence of her Scientologist ex (we’ve all got one right?!) Katie Holmes seems to be raising Suri independently. And I’ve got a lot of time for single mothers making the best of the rubbish situations their good-for-nothing partners put them in!

I just don’t get how parents can abandon their kids like this?! Nothing is stronger than a parents love for their babies but somehow Cruise seems to have passed up the amazing opportunity to raise his daughter in favor of a religion famed for its controversial views…

Even if Cruise does get his act together at some point in the future, he’d be flipping lucky for Katie or Suri to give him a second chance!

It’s been a long time since Cruise was last in Suri’s life and the little girl he left has done a lot of growing. Suri is almost thirteen now, she’s still a little sweetheart but I worry she’ll become more aware of her father’s beliefs and priorities as she grows, and that might be hugely upsetting.

Fortunately, she’s got a wonderful Mom to get her through it all…

Cruise’s representatives did not return to Us Weekly‘s invitation to comment. Which is… interesting…

Let’s just hope little Suri always knows she is strong, loved and worthy (despite her Dad’s stupid actions!) and with Holmes as a Mom? I think she’ll be set!
